A gorgeous day at Richard Ring Oval, Newmarket. Allauddin Mohammed won the toss and chose to bowl and there was something in the pitch for the bowlers early. However, Gold Crest batsmen had all the answers and dominated throughout the innings to post 232. There was no shortage of opportunities but grassed catches once again plagued the Mystics.
Skipper Al, was the pick of the bowlers, economical, while picking up two wickets. Taimoor picked up three wickets, including one from the last ball of the innings. Aman Dhaliwal picked up two catches behind the stumps and Sahil Puri grabbed the only outfield catch.
Gold Crest bowlers were also spot on, reducing Mystics to 2/14 before Deepak Salgotra and Shayan fought back with a 42 run 3rd wicket partnership. With Deepak falling on the last ball before drinks, Sahil joined Shayan for a promising 35 run partnership, but, with the score on 91 everything came undone as the Mystics lost 7/42 to be all out for 135 in the 38th over; Shayan the last man out for a stubborn 48.
