Macgregor Mystics v Salisbury Sloggers

Warehouse T20 Group A 2022-23 - Round 1

25 September 2022 at Kianawah Park 11

Conditions were perfect for the opening salvo of the Sunday T20s at Kianawah Park. Allauddin Mohammed broke his routine and won the toss electing to bat first.

Unfortunately, the Mystics could not get started in the face of some fine bowling and catching by the Sloggers. An 8th wicket, 43 run partnership in 29 balls was the only real highlight for the Mystics. Newcomers, Hassan Shah and Jasvinder Singh combined well to prise the Mystics out of a hole at 7/34 to a more respectable 83. Meanwhile, the Sloggers unique bowling and batting order selection technique paid dividends (and probably should be patented!) with wickets shared fairly evenly amongst the ten bowlers used. Zach Hawes and Nathan Ford picked up a couple each for less than double figures.

In the chase, a triplet of 20+ partnerships saw the Sloggers home within 10 overs. Zach Hawes contributed 29 from 21 to go with his 2/9. Sana ullah Sayed was the pick of the bowlers for the Mystics, scattering the stumps on three occasions in a demon four over spell.

The game played in great spirit by both sides. Well done to all.
