Upskill Cricket v Red Dogs

Winter Warehouse 2023 Saturday A1 Round 4

20 May 2023 at Ivor Marsden 3

Upskill were sent in on a tricky deck at Ivor Marsden Memorial Sports Ground and found themselves two down by the 9th over. A 100 partnership between Will Whatmore and the in-form Campbell Farrelly breathed life back into the innings taking Upskill to 132. Both Whatmore (36 from 64) and Farrelly (78 from 81) fell in a mid-order collapse of 4/23 in 33 balls before Lance Roudenko and Dan Gray steadied the ship in a run-a-ball 25 for the 7th wicket. Some lusty hitting by Roudenko, with solid support from Amreen Kahlon in the last few overs, added a valuable 29 from 14 to take the score to a formidable 209.

Sean Seaward threatened with a sparkling 50 at the top of the order and combined with James Young for a run-a-ball 3rd wicket 56, but three wickets in ten balls by Amreen Kahlon (including Seaward) saw the chase stall. Jonathan Allcock and evergreen Danny Young added 48 for the 6th wicket, but no other partnership topped 20 as Red Dogs lost their last five wickets for 26 runs in the space of 50 balls. Milan Skaria picked up 3/10 in 15 balls to mop up the tail.
