Wanderers v Anglican Church Grammar School

22 January 2019 At Churchie Main Oval

A beautiful hot day greeted the Wanderers at Churchie. Some good initial bowling had Wanderers 2/26, before Michael Wing entered the fray. With valuable support, especially down the order by Josh Durkin and Tom Anderson, Wing guided Wanderers to a formidable 227 and completed an impressive ton along the way.

The Wanderers’ fielding effort was first class. Short of seamers, Palam Singh’s leg-spin partnered Tom Anderson in opening the bowling. Palam’s 6 overs for just 8 runs tied up one end; Tom capturing three wickets from the other. Jack Hogarth bowled four unplayable overs for 4 wickets while Josh Durkin chimed in with two direct hit run outs and a C&B.

Churchie player of the match was Fergus Russell with a special mention to Jack Anning.

Thanks to Peter Drinnen and the Churchie faithful for hosting.
