Mystics won the toss and batted on a sunny but windy day. Things seemed to be going quite well at 1/35, but then, in what seemed to be the blink of an eye, 8/27. With a player down, that meant all out 63.
WPC did not have everything their own way in the chase. Hussain Akbar bowled lightning bolts blasting out the top order to have them 4/28 after 9 overs.
Allauddin Mohammed picked up a wicket in the 10th - a fine catch to Deepak Salgotra at Mid-on - to make it 5/39, but after that a couple of missed chances dismissed the possibility of a miracle. WPC taking just 15.2 overs to overtake the total.
