Macgregor Maestros v Albany Creek

Warehouse Winter 2021

Round 5 Saturday B1

29 May 2021 at Marchant Park 1

A lost toss saw the Maestros field first on a chilly, but beautiful day at Marchant Park. An LBW to Rae Sharma in the first over was a promising start and a "chop-on" off Adrian Nedwich a few overs later had Albany Creek 2/7. From that point there was no joy for the Maestros. AC opener/skipper Barry McDougall was the beneficiary of three dropped catches on his way to 131 no. Greg Lightbody and Matt Macdade picked up wickets and Razza picked up a second at the death as Albany Creek piled on 206.

The chase started well enough with Matthew Taviani and Nav Kahlon partnering for 26 before Michael Strudwick joined Matt for a second wicket 24. After that, no partnership reached 20 and the Maestros were bundled out for 104 in the 31st over.

There have been better days and there will be better days ahead. Two-dayers start next week.
