Gold Coast Waveriders were looking to remain undefeated and book a place in the Semi Finals in the last of the Round matches in Pool A. Waveriders won the toss and elected to bowl. It was an explosive start for the Magic with six to Glen Batticiotto and two 4s to Cameron Trask in the first over, but the first ball of the second by Jackson Smith trapped Batticiotto in front and it was 1/16. Two overs later, Trask was also on his way well caught by Nikhil Chaudhary off Chris Knight. Chris Sabburg and Jack Webster added 39 off the next 25 balls but then came a catastrophic 23 balls for the Magic when they lost 5/15 to be 7/76 after 64 balls. Slater Asnicar picked up three of the wickets to fall and was on hand again to pick up a 4th three overs later. Jackson Smith and Chris Knight picked up the last two wickets to bring the Magic’s innings to a close on 106 from 96 balls. There was some excellent outfield catching from the Waveriders with Nikhil Chaudhary picking up three, Oliver West two beauties right on the boundary and catches also to Paddy Cotter, Param Uppal, Nathan Muir and Toby Snell.

It was a sensational start for the Magic when skipper Preston White had danger man Addy Grewal caught first ball by Stephen Shaw, but Harry McNeilly and Paddy Cotter recovered nicely to advancing to 45 from 33 balls. Then three wickets in five balls made it 4/46 thanks to some good catching by Jet Liebke off Matt Jensen and then Chris Abbey and a screamer by keeper, Matt Schubert in one Batticiotto over. Nathan Muir and Nikhil Chaudhary calmly took the score to 71 from 55 balls then exploded to take 36 from the next 18 deliveries to overhaul the target with 27 balls to spare. Chaudhary finishing with 47 from 21 balls in a partnership of 61 from 29.

A six wicket win to the Waveriders and a semi-final encounter with the Bayside Pirates.
